The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) and Silver Valley Unified School District (SVUSD) establishes a partnership aimed at supporting the Healthy School Program. The main focus is facilitating healthcare access and community resource connections for SVUSD students, regardless of their insurance status. Key points include:
1. Services Provided: SVUSD will assist IEHP by referring students to IEHP's Health Navigator (HN) for health-related needs, organizing space and materials for on-site meetings, and helping with the program's marketing.
2. IEHP’s Role: IEHP’s HN team will visit selected schools regularly to support student referrals, provide healthcare navigation, and offer social and mental health resources.
3. Privacy and Compliance: The MOU includes a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement to ensure that any shared protected health information (PHI) adheres to federal privacy regulations, with specified protocols for data use, security, and potential breach reporting.
The agreement runs through June 30, 2026, with either party able to terminate it with notice.
