Silver Valley USD participates in the Federal eRate program to appreciate discounts for communication services, such as internet access, wide area network, and other services.
The Federal eRate program, now in its 25th year of service, provides discounted services to public schools and libraries. Silver Valley appreciates a program discount of 80% on eligible service costs, another 10% discount is taken through the California Teleconnect Fund (CTF) program.
A Form 470, Number 240004982 was posted on the USAC eRate portal. The solicited services are for Direct Internet Access from the District Office NOC at minimum speeds of 2Gbps.
Two providers responded, Spectrum Enterprises and Frontier Communications. Spectrum Enterprises was chosen as the winning proposal per the calculation performed in the Bid Matrix.

Technology Funds: eRate 80% discount on eligible costs, plus CTE 10% discount on eligible costs. Additional taxes to be applied.
NON-DISCOUNTED COSTS:
Internet Access at 2Gbps- 1,499.00/month
Total Estimated Discounted Costs (eRate + CTE): $150/month plus taxes/fees (2-5% of eligible costs)
