Summary:
|
Various HVAC systems located at Silver Valley High School are in need of replacement, design or redesign. Schneider Electric, our ESCO (Energy Services Company), has submitted an agreement for turnkey design and construction services. This agreement will provide SVUSD with the design and cost estimates to finally remedy HVAC issues at the High School.
Building "A" and Building "B" Classroom HVAC units have required extensive and expensive repairs over the past few years, and still do not provide adequate cooling or heating. Over the past ten to fifteen years there has been a history of ongoing issues, mainly due to performance of the existing units and internal duct work. The office and guidance room HVAC systems are also in a similar condition.
The gymnasium is currently using evaporative coolers. These systems do not provide adequate cooling when the temperature exceeds 90 to 100 degrees, as it frequently does during the summer time. A design proposal will be provided for converting the Gym to an HVAC system.
The area between the "F" Building has been an issue for HVAC performance. The area between the buildings does not allow for adequate ventilation of HVAC hot exhaust. A proposal will be provided on how to mitigate the heat saturation issue.
