SVUSD Basketball Courts Bradley Proposal_210603_105502.pdf
Summary: Silver Valley USD ongoing commitment to improving the facilities for our schools is dedicated to providing safe, usable spaces for our students.

Over the years, the Silver Valley HS outdoor basketball courts have been in a declining state of decay. Uneven surfaces and cracks in the asphalt surface create tripping and fall hazards. Weeds and other vegetation are also growing in the cracks furthering the damage.

To remedy these issues with a long term solution, we are proposing to remove the asphalt surface and install a new concrete twenty two thousand five hundred square feet pad in its place complete with painted basketball court outlines. There is also one hundred feet of chain link fence that will be replaced/repaired, extension of approximately twenty feet of block retaining wall, filling in about five thousand square feet of dirt area just outside the basketball courts and gymnasium. The existing basketball posts, backboards and hoops are in good condition and will be reused.

Under California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act - 2019, multiple quotes were received, with the lowest response received from Bradley General Building.

The results are as follows:

Bradley General Building: $199,700.00
Barkley Andross Corp: $329,300.00
Nationwide Construction: $434,100.00
Funding: COVID Funds: $199,700.00
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Governing Board of Trustees approve the renovation of the Silver Valley HS basketball courts with Bradley General Building.
