Summary:
|
Silver Valley USD's Network Operations Center (NOC) room houses all of the district's main network infrastructure and servers that allow all school sites and District Offices access to the internet and other network resources. The NOC is located at the District Office compound, in the ESC Building. The NOC is designed to have redundant backup power, to protect against power outages or brownouts. The current APC battery backup system has been in service for 15+ years, serving more than 4X its expected lifetime. The current system experienced a fatal mechanical error with its main bypass relay and is no longer capable of providing backup power to the NOC. A replacement unit is now needed. A current model APC Smart-UPS Lithium ION-based system has been designed to replace the old unit. The new unit will provide up to 2 hours of runtime, and provide inline power filtering to maintain operational power for the NOC. SEHI is the vendor that which this unit will be purchased from. SVUSD staff will perform the installation. |
